Narrative Gabriela 7th grade

Narrative by Gabriela, 7th grade:

Introduction

There were 2 girls named Gabriela and Patricia,they are 2 sisters that live in the D.R. Everyone thought that these sisters never fight,until one day everything changed.

Chapter 1

One day there were 2 girls named Gabriela and Patricia, Gabriela was 12 years old, Patricia was 10. The sisters never got along.They always fought for no reason,everyone thought that these 2 sisters never fought.

Days past by and for the first time they hadn´t fought. mom said “ Wake up girls it's time to go to school,when they got to school,everything went fine,until we went to recess,Gabriela {they call hey Gaby} was eating very normal and Patricia went to her table and pulled her hair Gaby said “ouch!wait till we go to the house”and then Paty left her alone.

when this 2 sisters got to their house they started arguing,then Gaby said “don´t you talk to me” [but what happen with this girls they never can´t spent one day without talking to each other]

Next day,it was wednesday. On wednesday they went to the supermarket. These days don´t go on so good. Mom told Paty Paty go buy 1lb of jam and 1lb of cheese then Gaby went with her. Then she starts pulling her hair,Paty dint notice it this girls spent all the time in the supermarket fighting

Gaby gets tired of being in the same bedroom,and then Gaby told her mom “mom can you do another bedroom so Paty and me can be separate” mom said “let me talk to your dad,if your dad said yes,we will make it” gaby got exited

Dad said “ok girls we will do another room for one girl”. The 2 girls got exited. Month,Days,hour,minutes passed by,and the roo was ready. It was how Gaby dreamed it woul de,was very girly,walls decorated how she wanted,the bed covers were very cute. Then her mom bought her a camera,because she likes to take pictures. These 2 girls fight,but not everyday. They live for ever happy

Story maps, summaries and plots.

We have used story maps with several grades to begin learning how to summarize a story and identify the different parts of a story.


We learnt that story maps help us to identify the:


  • WHO = Main characters.
  • WHEN = When in time is the story happening. 
  • WHERE = Where is the story taking place. 
  • WHAT = What is the plot, the main problem, the theme...
  • WHY = Why is this happening. 
  • HOW = How can it be resolved. 


We also saw how the plot resolves the above questions and how narratives are built.



The Who-Where-When are part of the exposition.

The What-Why are part of the rising action.

The How is part of the falling action and Resolution.

With all this information each grade is developing projects like narratives and summaries based on the guided books they are reading in class.

Reciprocal reading

Two weeks ago we learned and used Reciprocal Reading with 7th grade.

The class was divided into groups of four and they intiated their own reciprocal reading clubs.

Using this technique is interesting because students take action and make the process their own. It works on comprehension and discussion skills.

The writing process

chapter 1

the meeting

One day kelly (a 13 year old girl that goes to Washington High), was at the mall with her friend jenny, and as usual hey were shopping. They bumped into some Preston High students and they started talking. suddenly, there was a little spark lighting up on kellys and marshalls heart (marshal was a quarterback from preston high). not longer than that, they started dating.

the dating

On sunday, it's marshalls and kelly's week-versary.it is also the night that the football season starts and they know this is going to causetrouble because marshall is playing for the opposite team. But when jenny finds out, she decides to talk to kelly. jenny dosent believes that it was righ to date a preston high student but keely refuses to talk to her.

chapter 3

the season

when kelly and marshall go celebrate to the game , a rough mve it made and one of the players takles marshall and screams - live kelly alone- and runs away.Marshall was confused and so was kelly.

chapter 4

the friendship

Jenny decides to tell kelly the truth and talks to her. She confessed that she had asked one of the player to tackle marshall on purpose because kelly wasn't listening to her.Kelly( being more frustrated than ever ,) did the first thing that popped into her head , to run far away from jenny. far,far away.

chapter 5

the moving

Kelly decides that marshall deserves to know what happened in the field and tells the story, but then pops the idea... of moving. Marshall agrees with kelly and they decide to move … to pennsylvania.Kelly remembers that their other friends Ted and Barney, have a house there and asks them if they could have it for the winter.

chapter 6

the tragic

Surprisingly, week after Kelly and marshall were gone, Kelly came back town, lonely. She had a really sad and depressed face. her X friend jenny, asked if there was anything wrong when kelly confessed , that as for marshall… was dead. it was winter and marshall had caught just a cold, or so they thought. jenny was shocked for the news and tried to do everything to make kelly happy again. including to start dating.

the recovering

kelly was devastated. She started wearing dark colors on her hair and clothes. Jenny was losing hope, what could she do was the question.then she remembered a guy she had met a few days ago and presented him to kelly. And actually, this was the first guy that kelly had interest on. as for his name …… was Ted.

Ring, the bell rang. Mickle was late for math. Mr. Arnold yelled at him with no sense. Mickle loved math except when Mr. Arnold thaught. After math, he wanted to commit suicide. He hates school now for no reason. Mickle, at recess met a Susan, a chinese girl. Mickle liked Susan. HE was shy to ask her name. But later in science class, Susan came to Mickle and asked his name. Ms. Isabel divided in groups of 2, Mickle got to sit next to Susan, after science, Mickle gave his phone number to Susan. After school Susan called Mickle and asked “do you want to be my boyfriend?” Mickle said “yes”. But his father heard him. mickle’s dad hated chinese and susan is chinese so he needed to lie to his dad. So he said she was scottish. So susan and mickle had a problem being together. they did everything they liked until parent meeting, then susan’s dad met mickle’s dad and susan’s dad asked ‘’are you mickle’s dad?’’ he said yes so mickle got in big trouble because susans dad was chinese so that meant that susan is chinese, and also no one knew his name except him because he was new. mickle talked with his dad for 10 hours but he couldn’t convince him. his dad was really angry and they left the school, susan was never happy again

Narrative by Megumi, 7th grade:

There was a man named John in New York and he was a game creator. One day when he was creating a game, one of the characters which was an alien that John called Zibby became alive. Since then, they were close friends.

Two weeks later…

Because Zibby was an alien, he found out through telepathy that a UFO was coming to the Earth to kidnap some humans and take over the Earth. Zibby told John; and, together they went to meet the President of the USA. But the President thought that Zibby was a spy; and, he ordered the police to put Zibby in jail. But the President had his doubts.

Anyway, John knew how to get Zibby out of jail using a game that he created himself. So, together they went to the airport to wait for the spaceship. When they were waiting, the President came to apologize and to bring the armies to fight against the aliens. So Zibby told the armies the weak points of the aliens which were their black dots on their forehead.

After that, when the aliens came out of the spaceship; the armies pointed at these spots shooting them at once. So none of the aliens survived. The President accepted Zibby to be with John later. Because the Earth had been saved by their work. World peace was established.

Narrative by Emilio 7th grade

Narrative written by Emilio 7th grade.

Once upon a time in a school far far away it was a new school year and a start of a war. Let me start from the beginning.

When 6th grade met 5th grade at recess 5th graders were mostly old timers and 6th grade were mostly new to the school. so 5th grade think they were better and started throwing rocks at 6th grade. 6th grade told the teacher. the teacher spoke to them, but they didn’t stop. So 6th grade threw rocks back and that continued during all recess.

Next day 6th grade decided to bring guns to use against 5th grade if they threw rocks again, like the day before. they did, but 5th grade didit this time with guns so 6th grade got the guns too and school was evacuated. 5th and 6th grade didn’t leave perhaps; they continued fighting for a lot of days.

One day 5th grade sent a peace message to 6th grade. 6th grade asept but they went to their base with a lot of guards with guns for security.

They made peace after all. the school was reopened and 6th and 5th grade and all the school live in peace for ever.

President Obama are you sure? Yes, we need Europe and Russia to help us. Roger that sir, I am contacting all the countries . Remember Christian the offer. Hey honey where have you been?

At the office with Christian, Michelle. We are in trouble we need rice. Our economy depends on it.

Michelle, I am so sorry but I need to sleep.

Mr. Xijinping we hacked a call from the White House going somewhere in Europe. We only have few words. Tell me now! ‘Here from the White House to comunicate all countries of Europe to

PRPRPRPRPRPRPPRPPPP that is now or never. Please comunicate with us if PRRPPRPPRPRPRPRPRPRRRRR. Thats it! I know for a fact that they want to unite, but we need to figure for what and why. What do we dosir? Prepare all the soldiers we have for a upcoming war.

The days passed as the to big countries have an idea of a war and the United States haven’t attacked. Did we got permission? Yes sir. So tell the other countries that we are going to start a war.

Weeks passed and China is at the brinck of destruction and they look for help. Mr. Xijinping we need the help of South America for help. Then South America made a peace treaty accorrding China would give rice for patatoes.

Homework 5th grade 21 September 2015

Aldo and Sebas will read the "First reading" book they took home and will create a vocab list with the new words they learn.

Isabella and Isaac need to finish the summary on "Mittens".

The class has to investigate the meaning of "Figurative text."

The class will read chapters 5-6 by Friday this week.

Homework 6th grade 21 September 2015

Today we have to create a Boomwriter account and ask to join:


  • International School Santo Domingo.


Our parents need to approve our request via an email they will receive from Boomwriter.

Also we need to create a shared document in Google Docs with Claudia, which we will use tomorrow in class to write our summary of the book we are reading (Red Kayak).

This document will be blank until we start the exercise tomorrow.

But we can work in a different document this afternoon and practice together with our notes from class about how to write a summary and our notes from the books.

This week you have to read chapters 11-16 by Friday.

Homework 7th grade 21/Sep/2015

Today we have to write our narrative story in a Google Document and share it with the teacher, so that tomorrow we can add our narratives to the blog.

You have to read chapters 6-8 by Friday this week.
