Reciprocal reading

Two weeks ago we learned and used Reciprocal Reading with 7th grade.

The class was divided into groups of four and they intiated their own reciprocal reading clubs.

Using this technique is interesting because students take action and make the process their own. It works on comprehension and discussion skills.

The writing process

Last week we worked on the creative process with 7th grade. Each day we completed one step of the process. You can see their work published on the blog under the categories: narrative, 7th grade, entries. 

How to join Boomwriter

Instructions how to join Boomwriter

1. Go to Boomwriter.com. 
2. Click Join for Free > Student > Find your school 
3. Write: International School Santo Domingo. 
4. Click on the school name. 
5. Add your details. 
6. You will have to add a parent's email, so that they can approve you using this app. 

Once they approve your account via an email they will receive, I will have to approve you to the school and add you to our StoryWriter and WordWriter Projects.

How to access Duolingo virtual classrooms

Instructions to join our Duolingo School

1. Create an account in Duolingo. 
2. Download Duolingo app to your electronic device. 
3. Use the link corresponding to your grade and click on it. 
4. It will open Duolingo and ask you to allow Claudia to see your progress in Duolingo. Click Continue/Yes, I allow. 
5. Start with a level test. 
6. Do 10 minutes of Duolingo every day. 
7. Reports of "student of the week" will be issued on Tuesday's!
